MMIWG2S+ Prayer Walk & Run

We invite you to join us for this in person community prayer walk and run to raise awareness for Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, 2Spirit, and all our relatives (MMIWG2S+).

This event is being organized for the community to come together in prayer to remember and honor the lives and the families of all our relatives impacted by the MMIWG2S+ epidemic, including Emily Pike. It's been over a year since Emily's passing, so please join us as we come together again to honor her story and other's in a prayer walk and run. 

Event Information:

  • Saturday, May 9th - @4:30pm (parking available on site and on streets)

  • Donation of $5-15/person (sliding scale, no one turned away for lack of donation) - donations will be accepted via Venmo or cash (in person) to go towards the family of Emily Pike and other families directly affected by this epidemic.

  • Los Angeles State Historic Park - more info on route & meet up location will be emailed upon RSVP

  • Running is optional, but there will be a collective prayer walk

  • Please wear red or pink (Emily's favorite color) to the event

  • Bring your ribbon skirts and anything else to offer prayers with us collectively

  • Come in prayer and good intentions for our relatives who have been impacted by MMIWG2S

  • Special remarks will be shared throughout the event about how everyone can be a good ally / relatives regarding this epidemic

  • A community gathering will be held afterwards to process, connect with, and support each other - if possible bring a chair/blanket to sit and anything else to be comfortable

  • Water and snacks will be provided, but we encourage folks to bring their own water bottles to refill

This is a family-friendly and ADA accessible event. Absolutely no alcohol or drugs, and/or any amount of intoxication of any drugs or alcohol will be tolerated.

More about Emily Pike...

In 2025,Emily Pike's body was found, murdered and dismembered, on Feb 14th on Highway 60 and Forest Service Road, 20 miles north of Globe, AZ. Emily Pike was a 14 year old San Carlos Apache girl found brutally murdered in Arizona, 1 month after being reported missing. Her killer is still out there.
