The Chapter House Receives “Spirit of Tradition” Award from LA City Council

  • Los Angeles City Hall - 3rd Floor Bridge Gallery 241 North Main Street Los Angeles, CA, 90012 United States (map)

The Los Angeles City Council, in collaboration with the Los Angeles City/County Native American Indian Commission, will host the 2025 Native American Heritage Month Celebration.

This year’s theme, “Honoring Tribal Firefighters, Indigenous Stewardship, and Future Ancestors,” pays tribute to firefighters from over ten tribal nations who supported Los Angeles during recent wildfires, as well as community leaders advancing Indigenous resilience and creativity. Honorees include Tencha Chavez (Spirit of Community), The Chapter House (Spirit of Tradition), and Meztli Projects (Spirit of Creativity). The event features a council presentation and a community reception celebrating Native American culture, leadership, and legacy.

For additional details or to confirm your attendance, please contact my Communications Deputy, Kevin Contreras, at kevin.contreras@lacity.org or (818) 795-4664.
